I wanna thank Teacher Julie for making yoga so interesting and up-close and personal. Teacher Julie has great patience in teaching senior citizens and almost 90% of her students are elderly who had long-term ailments or nagging sores and pains that had made them inactive and immobile in their daily lives. I tried going for Julie ‘s class together with my mum who was all full of praises for this teacher who has a pure heart of gold and always ever ready to help the students on… a personal level to guide and consult them on specific workouts which will help to alleviate their pains.
I had a very bad experience with yoga many years ago and hurt my back as a result of improper guidance, and was avoiding yoga as much as I could, because I just feel that yoga will hurt my back further. The story is different altogether when I attended teacher Julie ‘s yoga classes. She made us understand our body on a personal and detailed level and during the times when our body attack us in pain, it is actually trying to tell us that some of the bad habits that we are exerting to our bodies unknowingly are wrong.
Teacher Julie ‘s students now consist a fair mixture of the young and old, all thanks to a lot of good referrals and word of mouth that has been passing around from students who have benefited so much from her teachings.
I’m one of them, and in order to extend my gratitude to her for alleviating so much of my bodily pains, I’d like to pass on this great message and share this amazing teacher with you. Good morning vikram, yesterday’s yoga was really good. This morning, have aches all over and can feel that all parts of the muscles are working. Thigh, arms, back and upper tummy can feel the ache. Have not had such great workout for the last 7 yrs. wonderful feeling. Thanks Vikram.Ms Nancy Teo
Dear Vikram As you know I conceived soon after I had started yoga classes with you. Before I started your class I was having difficulty breathing – I don’t know if it was the move to Singapore and the change in the air (Sydney’s air is much clearer!), to the heat and constant air con usage (also unheard of in Sydney) or some anxiety from the stresses of moving country (or a combination of all 3). That, and a realisation that I wanted to be in a space that allowed me to live compassionately, lead me to yoga. I had a strong feeling of needing to open my heart, to be able to love more and to let love in, and all of this led me to your class. I had tried different styles of yoga over the years in Sydney (bikram, power, etc.) but I always grew bored quickly as I didn’t feel connected to it, or I found it too easy, or when it was hard it was hard for the wrong reasons. With your class, space is given to understand and really feel your body, which I like very much. You are not only intuitive Vikram but you posses amazing knowledge of the human body and give each of your students exactly what they need. This makes your classes very special. Soon after starting with you I found myself breathing again, and not feeling anxious or stifled. My body was grounded again. And then there was both the physical and emotional opening up – it’s like my blood flowed through my body more easily, I was able to deal with stress, and, ultimately, I was able to feel deeper love. This enabled an even deeper sense of care for both myself and my husband, and I think this was one of the key component to us conceiving. Once I was able to come back to class (10am classes were too early for a few weeks there!) I again felt lighter, stronger, and more energised. My husband always remarks how happy I am when I come back from class. I’m really looking forward to a great pregnancy, and learning from you more and preparing my body for the exciting months (and years!) to come. Thank you, Vikram!Monica Mist
